Health & Safety

Membership of the NICEIC and CSCS ensures commitment to Health and Safety procedures.

We continually assess our employees and their needs for Health and Safety. Risk assessments are carried out, operatives are inducted on each contract and are instructed to follow the Health and Safety requirements of ourselves and our clients.

Our employees attend off site training courses run by various governing bodies to ensure Health and Safety remains paramount.
It is therefore, the company’s declared intention to ensure, as far as is reasonably practical, that none of our employees or other person not in our employment, but who may be affected by our undertakings are exposed to risks to his/her health, welfare and safety.

To achieve this intention the company will be to:

  • Obtain and keep up-to-date knowledge of legislation, codes of practice, and other technical and professional guidance on health and safety relating to the company’s activities.
  • Inform all employees of their statutory obligations as to, for example, safe methods of work, use of protective equipment, etc and point out known hazards which may be involved in their work. We will issue a copy of this policy to all staff and updates as appropriate.
  • Provide integrated safety and job training for all employees as is necessary to safeguard their own and other persons’ health and safety.
  • Expect the compliance of all employees with all relevant safety regulations and rules, and actively encourage their co-operation in establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all.
  • Appoint a Health and Safety Officer, and, through the existing staff structure, continuously monitor the effectiveness of its arrangements for health and safety, as required by current legislation. We will ensure that this safety policy is kept up-to-date with current working experience, latest official and professional guidance and new or amended legislation.
  • Pay particular attention to compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 (CDM Regulations), as this covers the vast majority of the company’s business activities, and it places considerable responsibility on both management and employees.

To this end, therefore, concern for health and safety must be an integral part of company organisation at all levels, and the Directors mean to ensure that this concern will be translated into effective action.
